I'm Adam Roach. I co-wrote The Quiet Neighbor with J.D. Barker — my name is right there on the cover next to his. I've also written a complete four-book crime thriller series start to finish. If you have a story in you, I can get it out of you and onto the page.

What I do

1. Ghostwriting
You have the story. I'll write the book.

Fiction (thrillers, crime, suspense — my home turf) and nonfiction (memoir, business, big-idea books). We talk, I listen, I write, you react — chapter by chapter, until it sounds like you on your best day. Confidential, always. Nobody ever has to know I was in the room.

2. Co-authoring
The "with" on the cover.

This is the model I did with Barker, and I love it: a true collaboration where we build the book together and both names go on it. If you have the platform, the story, or the expertise — and I have the thriller engine — let's talk.

3. Story doctoring & book coaching
For the draft that's stuck.

You've got 40,000 words and a middle that won't move. I've been there four times and finished every one. I'll read your manuscript, tell you the truth about what's working and what isn't, and give you a concrete plan to get to "The End."

How it works

  1. We talk. A free 30-minute call. You tell me the story; I tell you honestly if I'm the right writer for it. If I'm not, I'll say so.
  2. We outline. Every project starts with a chapter-by-chapter roadmap we both sign off on. No surprises later.
  3. I write, you react. You get chapters in batches. You mark what's right, what's wrong, what's missing. I revise as we go.
  4. We finish. Revisions until it sings. Then it's yours — every word, every right.

Investment

Every project is different, so let's talk about yours. As a rough guide:

  • Ghostwritten novel: typically $15,000–$40,000 depending on length and research
  • Ghostwritten nonfiction book: typically $12,000–$30,000
  • Co-authored book: structured per project — let's talk
  • Story doctoring / coaching: $100/hour, or flat fee per manuscript

I take on a small number of projects at a time so every book gets my full attention. Currently booking for early 2027.
